This amazing cake is so popular in Hungary, but it's originally from the Czech Republic, where some genius with Armenian heritage created their small cake business, which has grown to an international company, and this is why we are able to buy some Marlenka at the supermarket as well.

Even if I had a chance to buy caramelised condensed milk, I like challenges, so I cooked the normal condensed milk for an hour in the tin to make dulce le leche at home.

The most difficult part is to be patient for a few days... till the cream filling makes hard crust layers soft as a pillow, but believe me, it is worth it! It's very important: seriously, don't put it in the fridge, it should be at room temperature all the time, but keep it away from direct sunlight.
