Petra Väänänen, crowned Finnish MasterChef in 2022, turned her culinary passion into a profession by becoming a trained chef and co-founding Foodbytwins with her twin sister, Noora - a creative home cook and visual artist. The twins teamed up with Helsingin Sanomat's journalist, Satu Pajuriutta in the book publishing process. After two years of the initial idea, this autumn they can finally hold their first book, 'Four Seasons Of Cabin Cooking' (Finnish title: 'Mökkiruokaa Läpi Vuoden') in their hands. The people who turned the three authors' work into this beautiful book were Viola Virtamo layout designer, Elina Lähteenmäki editor, and Rebecca Watson English translator.
The cookbook is divided into four chapters, providing a wide range of recipe inspiration for the whole year. Readers will find various starters, mains, desserts and drinks for the four seasons, along with table setting tips and guidance on unique Nordic feasts. The recipes are meticulously tested in various cabin conditions from modern stove to open fire, so everyone can bring these dishes to their own tables with confidence. The Nordic cabin culture walks hand-in-hand with foraging, so the seasonal recipes are focusing on both wild and locally produced ingredients.

- Sumptuous cranberry and almond pie + salted caramel sauce
- Apple & ginger mocktail
